Stellantis Employees Honored at Women of Color in STEM Conference

The annual Women of Color in STEM Conference in Detroit has recently concluded, and during the conference, five Stellantis women were distinguished with honors for their financial and technical acumen and achievements. This is a proud moment not only for these hard-working women, but also for Stellantis, a company that strives to promote equality in the workplace.

The Women of Color in STEM Conference took place this year from October 12th to October 14th. A major event for the automotive industry, it celebrates and highlights the significant achievements of women in the STEM fields, encouraging their innovations and advancements and promoting the visibility of their inspirational successes.

Stellantis was able to nominate recipients for awards at this conference, and five different women from the company were awarded the Women of Color STEM Outstanding Achievement Award this year, in the categories for Top Women in Finance and Technology Rising Stars. The recipients of the Top Women in Finance Award were Chiny Ferrell, a cash management manager in the finance department, and Zenia Yee, a North America consolidation manager in engineering. The Career Communications Group, which organizes both the conference and the awards, spoke of the winners as “superstars in the financial sector … they are leaders in their field, promoting diversity and serving as a role model.”

The Technology Rising Star category is designed especially for women in the early-to-mid stages of their career who are growing and innovating in award-worthy ways. Three Stellantis women took home wins in this category: Priya Nataraj, a technical operations manager in base software engineering and software, Sulbin Park, a senior staff engineer in AI fusion and software, and Natalie Ward, a human factors and ergonomics engineer in the engineering department. These are women who are “helping to shape technology for the future,” according to the Career Communications Group.

Having female employees in leadership positions is one of the goals of Stellantis’ Dare Forward 2030 strategic plan, leading the company to establish a leadership development program focused on training and developing talented women for future leadership opportunities. This award-winning program has become a model for similar programs throughout the workforce and has resulted in promotions for 66% of program participants between 2018 and 2022. These well-deserved awards for Ward, Park, Nataraj, Yee, and Ferrell are signs that Stellantis is on the right track!
