Ram Earns Top Honors at Texas Truck Rodeo

The yearly Texas Truck Rodeo, hosted by the Texas Auto Writers Association, just recently took place, and as per usual, the presence of Ram trucks dominated the event. Together with Stellantis peer Jeep, Ram took home the most awards of any automaker at the event, continuing a trend of astonishing crowds, writers, and automotive enthusiasts at this annual gathering.

Founded in 1987, the Texas Auto Writers Association has grown over time into one of the most recognized and well-respected automotive media organizations in the entire auto industry. With a drive to promote quality and accuracy in automotive content and to spread easily accessible information about the industry, the annual Texas Truck Rodeo is a way for members of the association to directly interact with the trucks they’re writing about, learning their nuances and identifying the vehicles that really stand out.

Members of the writers association in attendance are treated to a full day of vehicle evaluations both on and off the road, including 218 drives on the event route. Afterwards, they cast their votes about which vehicles deserve special recognition, and this year, the Ram brand cleaned up at the podium.

Ram took home five separate awards at this year’s Texas Truck Rodeo, along with Jeep taking home three and one for parent company Stellantis. Ram’s 2023 awards include Best Full Size Pickup Truck for the 2023 Ram 1500, Best Off-Road Pickup Truck for the 2023 Ram 1500 TRX, Best Luxury Pickup Truck for the 2023 Ram 1500 Limited, Best Heavy Duty Truck for the 2023 Ram Heavy Duty Rebel, and Highest Personal Appeal for the 2023 Ram 1500.

“Ram trucks brought their A-game again this year, winning several consecutive awards, including the Full-size Pickup Truck of Texas, and scoring the highest for overall personal appeal, which is significant because Texas is the truck capital of the US,” said Teia Collier, president of the Texas Auto Writers Association. “We also enjoyed the lineup from the Jeep brand, with several vehicles that were the stars of their categories offering incredible performance, craftsmanship and capability.”

This marks the sixth year in a row that Ram has won the Full-size Pickup Truck category, as well as the seventh consecutive year for the Heavy Duty Pickup Truck category, the eighth consecutive year for the Luxury category. This isn’t the Ram 1500’s first time taking home the Highest Personal Appeal, either, giving this year’s wins additional prestige.
