Ram Continues Tradition as Official Truck of Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

It’s that time of year again– people everywhere are getting ready to spend the morning taking in the colorful balloons and eye-catching floats of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. This time-honored tradition is now in its 97th year, and there’s another special tradition being upheld at this year’s parade: that of the Ram Truck brand being the official truck of the parade, an office the brand has held for nine straight years now.

Ram has been working closely with Macy’s and the City of New York for some time now, planning this year’s spectacle and trying to top the years that have come before. More than 20 Ram trucks will be towing the floats down the parade route this year, delighting the hundreds of New Yorkers and visitors that come to watch in person and the millions that will tune in on TV. Ram is also fully diving into the holiday spirit now just by towing floats, but by having trucks become part of the decor themselves with special full-body wraps to complement the designs of their floats. One truck will have a wrap design of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and another will be themed around Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Most importantly, a specially-created wrap has been set aside for the truck that will be towing Santa Claus himself.

Ram’s job isn’t limited to hauling these heavy floats down the parade route. The trucks have also been hard at work behind the scenes moving parade materials around the city in preparation for Thursday morning, like tools and costumes. In total, Macy’s has been provided with over 70 trucks and commercial vans just for this year’s parade.

The 97th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will be aired nationwide on NBC-TV, from 8:30 a.m. to noon in all time zones on Thursday, November 23. Make sure to tune in so you can sneak a peek at Ram trucks decked out in their holiday finest and doing what they do best!
