Ram 1500 Debuts in Europe with New Power and Efficiency

Ram Trucks is making a bold move in Europe with the introduction of the new Ram 1500, a pickup truck that blends power, durability, advanced technology, and safety into one compelling package. As part of Stellantis’ Dare Forward 2030 strategic plan, the new Ram 1500 is positioned to lead in delivering innovative, efficient, and affordable mobility solutions. This updated model sets a new standard in the segment, offering European customers enhanced performance, more power, and greater fuel efficiency through the inclusion of the new 3.0-liter Hurricane engine family.
The Ram 1500’s debut is a significant step for Stellantis’ strategy to push forward global mobility solutions. The Hurricane engine family embodies a crucial evolution in internal combustion engine (ICE) technology, pushing the boundaries of power and efficiency. The 3.0-liter Hurricane delivers 420 horsepower and 636 Nm of torque, while the high-output version takes it further, offering 540 horsepower and 706 Nm of torque. These engines emphasize both power and fuel efficiency, making them the ideal choice for consumers looking for no-compromise performance.
One of the major highlights of the new Ram 1500 is its impressive capability. With a payload of 1 tonne and a towing capacity of up to 3.5 tonnes, it is well-suited for a variety of tasks, whether for work or leisure. The towing system has been designed to instill confidence in drivers, making it easier than ever to hook up, back up, and stay in control when hauling heavy loads. The new Trailer Hitch Assist and Trailer Reverse Guidance systems, along with dynamic gridlines on the touchscreen, make maneuvering trailers more intuitive.
In terms of cargo space, the Ram 1500 doesn’t disappoint. Its bed, which spans 2.2 square meters, offers ample room for equipment and materials. The Multifunction Tailgate, with dual side-hinged doors and an optional power release, simplifies loading and unloading. Furthermore, the RamBox® Cargo Management System provides additional storage, complete with illumination and a 115-volt power outlet for powering tools, lights, or other equipment.
Beyond its outstanding performance and practicality, the new Ram 1500 boasts a host of advanced technological features that set it apart from the competition. It is the most technologically advanced Ram 1500 ever, offering the Uconnect 5 system with speeds five times faster than its predecessor. This system comes with a massive 14.5-inch touchscreen display, the largest in its class, along with a 10.25-inch passenger screen and dual wireless phone charging pads. In total, the truck offers over 50 inches of combined digital display space, making it the best in its class for screen coverage.
Safety is another area where the Ram 1500 excels. With more than 100 available safety and security features, including Advanced Brake Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Drowsy Driver Detection, and Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning Plus, the truck is designed to keep drivers and passengers safe in various driving conditions. Pedestrian Emergency Braking and a 360-degree Surround View camera further enhance the truck’s safety capabilities, making it one of the most secure options in its segment.
Ram’s success in the U.S. market speaks volumes about the brand’s quality and reliability. The Ram 1500 has been a top performer, recently taking the third-highest volume spot in the U.S. and standing out in the 2024 J.D. Power U.S. Initial Quality Study. As the only truck-exclusive brand to achieve such high distinction, Ram has solidified its reputation as a leader in the pickup truck market.
The new Ram 1500 is designed to meet the evolving needs of European customers, offering an exceptional blend of American truck culture with the practicality and efficiency needed for European roads. According to Eric Laforge, Head of Ram, Dodge, and Jeep for Enlarged Europe, “As the only brand solely dedicated to trucks, Ram addresses the needs of independent thinkers who seek the ‘Ram Life.’” This truck lifestyle is embodied in the new Ram 1500, which offers efficiency, capability, technology, comfort, and premium materials, all wrapped in one impressive package.
In addition to its gasoline-powered engines, Ram is looking toward the future with ambitious plans for electrification. By Q3 2025, the brand will introduce the all-electric Ram 1500 REV to the European market. This zero-emission truck is set to redefine the segment, boasting the best driving range, towing, and payload capacity in its class. Built on the advanced STLA Frame architecture, the Ram 1500 REV will offer a 168-kWh battery pack with a targeted range of up to 563 kilometers. Fast-charging capabilities will enable drivers to gain 177 kilometers of range in just 10 minutes, making it a game-changer for electric trucks in Europe.
The Ram 1500 REV will also offer impressive capabilities, with a towing capacity of 6.3 tonnes and a payload capacity of 1.2 tonnes. Additionally, the truck will feature the largest frunk in its class, providing 425 liters of secure storage space.
As Ram Trucks continues to expand globally, the new Ram 1500 is set to make a significant impact in Europe. With its combination of power, advanced technology, safety features, and unmatched capability, the Ram 1500 is poised to become the no-compromise benchmark for trucks in the region. Whether for work, leisure, or simply enjoying the ‘Ram Life,’ this new pickup is designed to meet the demands of even the most discerning truck enthusiasts.
