Dodge Celebrates 20 Years of HEMI Power with Special Edition

October 21st, 2024 by

Dodge is continuing its anniversary celebration with the unveiling of a new addition to its lineup: the 2025 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat Brass Monkey. This high-performance SUV marks two decades of HEMI-powered Durango production, adding to Dodge’s tradition of bold design and unparalleled performance.

According to Matt McAlear, CEO of Dodge, the new Brass Monkey edition closes out a trio of 2025 special-edition models. With the 710-horsepower supercharged V8 engine, this version of the Durango SRT Hellcat not only offers best-in-class towing at 8,700 pounds but also retains its status as the fastest American three-row gas-powered SUV.

Since Dodge began full-scale production of HEMI-powered Durangos in 2004, the brand has become synonymous with high-powered SUVs. The new Brass Monkey joins a line of limited-edition releases for 2025, including the Durango SRT Hellcat Silver Bullet, the SRT Hellcat Hammerhead, and the R/T 20th Anniversary edition. Each of these models reflects the power and design ethos that has defined Dodge over the years.

The Brass Monkey stands out with its Red Oxide exterior, adorned with dark bronze accents that have been fan favorites on previous Dodge vehicles. Its 20-inch Brass Monkey wheels, exclusive badging, and Satin Black painted hood give it a distinctive look, while the interior offers Sepia Laguna leather seats, a suede headliner, and a leather-suede steering wheel. Subtle touches like silver embroidery on the seatbacks and premium carbon-fiber details enhance the cabin’s premium feel.

Like the other Hellcat variants, the Brass Monkey delivers staggering performance. It rockets from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds, covers the quarter-mile in 11.5 seconds, and reaches a top speed of 180 mph. Under the hood lies the heart of this beast—a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI Hellcat V8 engine paired with an eight-speed TorqueFlite transmission. Drivers also get access to SRT Performance Pages, configurable Drive Modes, and Launch Control for enhanced control over every driving scenario.

Inside, the Brass Monkey offers tech and comfort features like a 10.1-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, a 19-speaker Harman Kardon system, and a second-row console with armrest. Standard driver assistance technologies include Blind-spot Monitoring with Trailer Detection, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop, and Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking, making it as practical as it is thrilling.

Dodge’s Horsepower Locator tool on DodgeGarage.com helps customers search for dealer availability, making it easy to find a Brass Monkey or other special-edition models. Dodge updates the availability list weekly, streamlining the process of connecting with dealerships and placing orders.

With a starting price of $113,720, excluding destination charges, the 2025 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat Brass Monkey is now available to order. This release represents more than just a continuation of Dodge’s high-performance tradition—it’s a celebration of 20 years of HEMI power in the Durango and a signal that Dodge remains committed to pushing boundaries.

As Dodge looks toward the future, the legacy continues. The next-generation Dodge Charger, including the all-electric 2024 Charger Daytona Scat Pack, promises to carry the brand’s muscle car spirit into a new era. Meanwhile, the Durango SRT Hellcat Brass Monkey ensures that the present is just as exhilarating as ever, offering unmatched performance in an SUV that stands out on both the road and the track.
