Dodge Charger Daytona and Ram 1500 Win 2025 MotorWeek Drivers’ Choice Awards

The 2025 MotorWeek Drivers’ Choice Awards have recognized two standout vehicles for their exceptional performance and innovation. The all-new Dodge Charger Daytona has been named Best Sport Coupe, while the Ram 1500 claimed the title of Best Fullsize Truck, two prestigious honors that highlight these vehicles’ remarkable advancements.

The Dodge Charger Daytona, an all-electric muscle car, marks a significant step forward for the iconic brand. As the next generation of Dodge muscle, the Charger Daytona is part of a new, multi-energy lineup that retains the brand’s muscle car essence while embracing electric propulsion. “From the outset, Dodge promised that buyers would not have to accept any compromises just because their hallmark muscle car traded in its classic HEMI® V-8 for electric propulsion,” said John Davis, creator and host of MotorWeek. “Indeed, from its exterior styling and interior layout, to its amazingly fitting virtual sounds audibly underscoring its rocket-like acceleration, you would be hard pressed not to think there was a chorus of pushrods still pulsating under the Charger’s long, wide, flat, ’60s era hood. When all is said and done, the Dodge Charger Daytona is an all-wheel-drive muscle car first and an EV second.”

On the truck front, the 2025 Ram 1500 continues to redefine what a full-size pickup can be. With a complete redesign, the Ram 1500 offers cutting-edge features such as the new turbocharged inline-six Hurricane engine, along with the highest towing capability in its class—up to nearly six tons. “The new Ram takes innovation to the next level,” Davis remarked. “Now, the new Ram can be outfitted for every role from work buddy to city slicker, with available features like 22-inch wheels, four-corner air suspension, 23-speaker sound system, and even quilted leather seats. Yet, it can still tow nearly six tons. Equal parts rugged and refined, the new Ram 1500 is also a new force to be reckoned with in full-size pickups.”

The MotorWeek Drivers’ Choice Awards have been a cornerstone of automotive recognition for over four decades, evaluating new cars and trucks based on their performance, features, and consumer appeal. The judging process includes extensive driving, research, and testing of over 150 vehicles each year.
