Date Set for Second Annual Freedom of Mobility Forum

This year will mark the second occurrence of Stellantis’ annual Freedom of Mobility forum. The event’s planned date of Wednesday, April 3rd, 2024 has just been announced, and this year’s live digital debate will cover the topic “How will our planet accommodate the mobility needs of 8 billion people?”

This is a complex question to be sure, and this year’s forum will allow the members of the expert panel to expand on and explore how planetary limits could reshape transportation through the lenses of technology, business, and lifestyle. This year’s panel will feature:
Majora Carter of the United States, an urban revitalization strategist, real estate developer, author, and award-winning broadcaster
Manal Jalloul of Lebanon, co-founder and CEO of AI Lab, certified instructor and university ambassador at NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute
Roberto Schaeffer of Brazil, professor of Energy Economics at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, and IPCC contributor
Matthias Schmelzer of Germany, economic historian, social theorist and climate activist
Carlos Tavares of Portugal, CEO and Co-chair of the Freedom of Mobility Forum Advisory Board
Carter will be addressing the forum’s driving question from a societal perspective. Jalloul will focus on tech and AI, Schaeffer will focus on the environment, Schmelzer will address economic perspectives, and Tavares will take a business-oriented approach.

The 2024 debate is featuring a new aspect in that the Forum will be collaborating with three leading universities from around the world, working with the schools to guide the course of the debate and inviting their students to challenge the panelists during the live event. Brandeis University in the U,S., HEC Paris in France, and ENSA Kénitra in Morocco are the three universities selected for this year, a development that will strengthen the voice and presence of the youth and upcoming generations in this year’s debate, challenging assumptions and encouraging innovation.

Cecilia R. Edwards, a partner at Wavestone global consulting firm, will serve as the facilitator for this debate once again, moderating the discussion between the panelists and students.

“For a second year we’ve assembled a distinguished and diverse global panel of experts to discuss mobility from a wide range of perspectives,” said Edwards. “We are thrilled to amplify the voice of the younger generations with the participation of students from three universities across three continents who will challenge our panelists.”
