Ram and Jeep Take Home Multiple Honors at Texas Motor Press Association Off-Road Invitational

The Texas Motor Press Association’s Off-Road Invitational recently concluded, and Jeep and Ram cleaned up on awards and honors. The 2021 Ram 1500 TRX has received the event’s top honor as Texas Truck of the Year, as well as taking home an additional award for High Performance Truck of the Year. The 2021 Jeep Gladiator won as Off-Road Truck of the Year, and the all-new 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L was awarded Full-Size SUV of the Year. The 2021 Jeep Wrangler 392 received the honor for High-Performance SUV of the Year.

Stellantis and LG Energy Solution Prepare to Form EV Battery Production Joint Venture

As demand for electric and hybrid vehicles rises, obtaining batteries is becoming hugely important. Some automakers are choosing to form partnerships that will allow them to have more control over the manufacturing location and process of the batteries that will power their vehicles, and Stellantis is the latest automaker to take on this kind of a project. Today, they announced that they will be forming a joint venture with LG Energy Solution to manufacture electric vehicle batteries in North America.

Mopar Releases Ram Concept Teasers

The SEMA Show (Specialty Equipment Market Association) show will be returning in 2021 after a Covid-related cancellation in 2020. The 2021 show will be taking place in Las Vegas, NV at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Mopar will be displaying customized vehicles on behalf of Ram as well as Jeep, and this week Mopar released several concept sketches in advance of the show, and though they are fairly obscure, there’s been plenty of people trying to dissect what the images could be teasing.

Stellantis Develops Ram, Jeep, Fiat Versions For RED Charity

 

 

Transatlantic auto manufacturer Stellantis recently collaborated with musician and global philanthropist Bono’s RED charity using the biggest asset the vehicle company owns: its notable Ram, Jeep, and Fiat brand names. Merging forces with the world-renowned not-for-profit as it strives to reduce COVID cases and severities around the world, Stellantis is set to release special-edition RED vehicles starting this year.

Dodge Ties Porsche in J.D. Power APEAL Study

This week the J.D. Power APEAL study, or Automotive Performance, Execution, and Layout study, was released, The results found that for the year of 2021, Dodge has topped out the mass-market brands category with a score of 882 out of an available 1,000, evenly tied with Porsche’s top spot of the premium brands category. Ram has followed Dodge and taken second place on the mass-market side with a score of 881.

The Ram brand has been gaining more respect in the world of high-performance pickups for a while now. One of the most popular versions of Mopar’s pickup is the Ram 2500 Power Wagon.

Ram Electric Pickup Could Arrive by 2024

 

An all-electric future is nearly upon us, and as major conglomerate Stellantis has assured, by 2030, nearly every major FCA and PSA automaker will offer an electric vehicle of some kind. In the run-up to 2030, the company plans to build plug-in hybrids of most models as part of an accelerated global electrification plan.

 

New platforms are already in the works to support purely electric vehicles, including one for body-on-frame pickups and large SUVs, which is due in 2024.
