Matt Hagan Earns First Victory For 2020 Dodge Charger Hellcat Widebody at AAA Texas NHRA FallNationals

Two-time NHRA Funny Car world champion Matt Hagan rocketed his way to the first-ever win by a 2020 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody Funny Car in the NHRA series earlier this week. The latest win marks the ninth time over 22 races so far this season where a Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat has come out on top.

Hagan’s win also marks the 32nd victory of his career and his third at the Texas Motorplex located near Dallas. Thanks to the victory, Hagan has once again rekindled his chances at the 2019 Funny Car points championship.

“We were carrying the Western Tech and Mopar CAP colors on this Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody Funny Car this weekend,” Hagan said. “We had a message for a lot of students Friday morning. Any time we can reach young kids it is a great thing.... I did my job today and my guys did their jobs today and that’s what happens when you put a good group of people together.”

Hagan is one of seven HEMI-powered Dodge/SRT Mopar drivers that qualified for the 16-car Funny Car field. Jason Beckman also reached the second round and remains second in the standings, and Ron Capps currently holds the sixth place spot.
