Dodge Reveals All-Wheel Drive Dodge Charger GT

Dodge continues to lead the way innovating their line of sports cars as they recently debuted the 2020 Dodge Charger GT all-wheel drive. For the first time, the Charger GT AWD delivers an all-weather capable muscle car. Dodge kept the defining features of a Charger including the performance hood, front and rear fascias, sculpted side sills, and spoiler, while incorporating an all-wheel drive system for year round driving abilities.

"Most people think of Chargers and Challengers as high-performance muscle cars, which clearly they are, but they can also be four-season capable AWD performance cars," said Tim Kuniskis, Global Head of Alfa Romeo and Head of Passenger Cars – Dodge, SRT, Chrysler and FIAT, FCA – North America. “Only Dodge offers vehicles that combine practicality and all-weather driving confidence without sacrificing muscle car attitude.”

The Charger GT AWD includes Dodge’s award-winning 3.6L Pentastar V-6 engine, delivering 300 horsepower and 264 lb.-ft of torque. Dodge drivers will also find a tuned induction system and dual exhaust to help deliver over 90 percent of the engine’s peak torque from 1,800 to 6,400 rpms.

For those who still want the authentic rear-wheel drive, the Dodge Charger performs with the front wheels disengaged so all of the torque is directed to the rear wheels. The Dodge Charger GT AWD seamlessly switches from rear-wheel drive to all-wheel drive as soon as it senses a loss of traction. For those heading out in slippery conditions, all-wheel drive can be activated right away with a push of a button.

The 2020 Dodge Charger GT AWD will be available for order beginning in January and can be expected to land on showroom floors in the first quarter. The manufacturer suggested retail price is $34,995.
