For example, the Ram 3500 includes an engine control system that can shut down some of the engine's cylinders to help improve fuel economy, as well as an automatic stop/start feature that turns the engine off at a stoplight or in heavy traffic to preserve fuel. The Super Duty does not offer either of these features.

The Ram 3500 has a minimum standard towing capacity of 14,380 lbs. The Ford Super Duty, on the other hand, only has a minimum standard towing capacity of 12300 lbs. The Ram 3500 also has a maximum standard payload of 4,590 lbs, much higher than the Super Duty's maximum standard payload of 3,530 lbs.
